Why we are tracking Nordic mobility startups

Mobility is a coordination problem that requires collaboration between young, established, private, and public entities. That is why we believe in fostering conversations, facilitating partnerships, and promoting more dialogue. There is no single company or solution that will fully address the challenges of mobility, it will require a diverse range of ideas, business models, and approaches.

Beta Mobility recognizes the significant role that startups will play in transforming the mobility and transportation sector. Startups are instrumental in driving development, including advancements in technology, and innovative thinking.

We actively use the landscape in our work to:

• Understand what is out there, and how it changes the dynamics in the market

• Facilitate coordination, collaborations, and new partnership

• Connecting with customers, pilots, and capital

Our goal is to bring value to all parts of the ecosystem, i.e. regulators, investors, startups, industry incumbents, city planners, and others.

The landscape consists primarily of companies that are

• In mobility or closely adjacent in the eco-system

• Of Nordic origin

• Founded in the last 10 years

• Land-based (this includes urban ferries + drones)
